Statement from SEIU Local 1 President Genie Kastrup on Shooting at St. Louis Highschool

ST. LOUIS, MO. - Early yesterday morning, a gunman opened fire at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School in St. Louis leaving two dead and several others in critical condition. SEIU Local 1 President Genie Kastrup releases the following statement:

“Today, we grapple with the news of another shooting, this time in our beloved community of St. Louis - home to hundreds of Local 1 workers and their families. My heart breaks for the children and parents in St. Louis who have had their lives forever changed today. This cannot be the normal we accept - we must demand action.”

SEIU Local 1 honors the lives of health teacher Jean Kuczka and 15-year-old student Alex Bell.
